Bastrop 9/5

Went out to bastrop Saturday morning. Put in around 7:15. Surprisingly not that many boats on the water. Water was cooler 89ish on intake side and I picked one up on a senko not far from the south shore. Looked for schooling action by the dam but there was not much. Went to the discharge side and saw lots of bait. Water seems to be higher (or getting closer to normal) now. Bass were schooling at the discharge channel and I picked up a few on a swim bait. It was slightly overcast and we got a few sprinkles on the way home.

All in all it is always nice to get out on the water but it felt like an off day. Could be the air pressure, cooler water and that All the cover that there once was is gone. I don’t think it will take too long for things to get back to normal. Looking forward to things once the temps cool down.

Off the water around 11:30. Only saw one pontoon boat pulling tubers all day.
