Wanted to get some fishing in before dropping the boat off for Gary and crew to do my annual stuff. I was there early enough to see the lights were still on at the docks. Last few times the bass have not been there, but I still wanted to fill the wiggle. I targeted white bass. 5 casts later I had 4 white bass and 1 largemouth. Great fighters. after the sun came up I headed up to the low water crossing. Well the boat does not fit under the bridge. There were only large schools of carp up there. That is what I saw anyway. I would expect some striper or bass with all that rock to hide in. I moved on and started throwing my big wake bait. Bad cast and boom there she was. I was shocked to see the fish in that spot. She measured right at 24". I did not get the weight. Probably about 6.5lbs tops.
Headed in to beat the crazy traffic. Then I remembered I was in a boat that could handle the sloppy water. Rode over the wakeboard boat waves like they were ripples.
Good times.
Gary has a lot of business going on right now and so I will hopefully be dropping the boat off this next weekend.
